Las Vegas in February! 2-3 nights in crazy-ass Vegas, then 2-3 nights in roadside motels in NV, UT, and AZ. Unfortunately, I've just told you almost the full extent of our decisions on this topic.

Flights: booked
Rental car: booked
Hotel: not yet decided
Shows: not yet decided
Vacation companions: not yet confirmed

Quick price survey for your reference (all prices CDN, standard room, and averaged out):
Sahara $79/night
Circus Circus $108/night
Paris $178/night
New York New York $208/night

Las Vegas Strip, Monorails, and Roadside attractions for us to go and be baffled by.

Must make some decisions!

How did UT and AZ end up on the itinerary? Where will you be?

Have I mentioned that I live in Arizona? :-P

UT, AZ, and NV are all in the cards because we know that we'll get bored in LV after 48 hours or so. We have no specific plans though, but we'll need to come up with some to avoid getting bored in no-name motels on the road instead. :)

Where in AZ? Driveable from Las Vegas in a nice short trip?

Well, not short... I live in the Phoenix metroplex. I have been told it is 4-5 hours by car, depending on the route one takes. I would suggest meeting at the Grand Canyon, but February at 8,000 feet might be a bit chilly. :-)

I could easily fly up to Vegas to play with you guys, tho, if I know the dates in advance and I am not already traveling for work (see my journal for the latest) - it's like a 40-minute flight from PHX to LAS. If you would like, I could check into surrounding area attractions or unusual things to do, if you are looking for something to do away from the city. I know Hoover Dam is not far, but that's not exactly an amusement park. :-)

Cool! That would be a good time too. We'll have to see how the plans work out... tonight we're kinda blah on the whole idea of the trip.
