To prove that you are actually human, please identify as many of these sections as you can. They are differentiated by colour, and have specific meanings.

If you cannot identify the sections, clearly you are not human, since this was sent as our attempt at communication with the globular cluster M13 in 1974. Seeing as you are not human, you should report to the proper authorities: either a) the transit station in the Men in Black movies, b) the Oval Office in the White House, or c) the backyard of Elliott, the kid with the bike in that movie.

Ok, I'm guessing... left to right...
  • White dot thingy. Representation of binary counting or something. I see 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 plus an errant 1 bit turned on in each, followed by the same representation with a second column.
  • Red blobby thing. No clue. Lego blocks?
  • Green. Component proteins of DNA, because...
  • Blue... the DNA helix.
  • Red... human.
  • White dots underneath human - representation of our planetary system, with Earth popped up for emphasis.
  • Purple -- Radio telescope thingy.

Just a guess.

I was closer than I thought on a lot of these. I really only missed the atoms/proteins one, according to the linked explanation (altho I don't see how the red blobby jobber is supposed to be indicative of anything... makes me think of red Legos).

Who knew?

And I wonder why they show 1-10 in altered binary/base 7? That's weird.
