37,500 points for economy of 40,000 for business...

I only have 31,000 points. :(

Hmmm, that is a pickle. I'm pleased that I found the cheap fares on AC so I can keep building up Aeroplan points to do Burning Man and Seattle for cheap. Yay points!

Halifax is very cold in March, you wouldn't enjoy it that much. :-)

That means it's only about $300 including taxes to buy the additional points. Isn't that still virtually free in USD? (I know it's not, I just really want to see you again.)

One problem...

5 Min Fame just moved to Friday nights.

Well, I suppose that's logical. It had been starting later and later... it was bound to start on a Friday eventually. :)

This is a good thing, actually, since we'd only get to the bar during the last bits of the show due to our flight times. Now we get to see the whole thing!

Can we leave now?

You didn't want to miss Tai Chi! Otherwise it would be only like 2-3 weeks util we went... we'll just have to hold on a bit longer... :)

Dear [livejournal.com profile] c9,

I don't understand the airport symbols... I mean, Boston = BOS and Atlanta = ATL and Los Angeles = LAX but... what's with all the Y's?

Signed,
Confused

Dear [livejournal.com profile] get_busy_living,

Americans in control of international standards, throughout history, have focused primarily on American interests ans simplicity for Americans, leaving other nations to adapt and or suffer. As much as I'd like to blame the US government for this, it's really attributable to the gradual evolution of the airport code system:

They're easier once you ignore the Y: YYC is Calgary, YHZ is Halifax, YHM is Hamilton. Well OK, not easier. But at least there are letters in common. Sometimes more than one!

Signed, Cam

I was told by my ex (who was a flaming airline geek) that the "Y" codes in Canada started out as railroad codes...

Regarding ORD (O'Hare in Chicago, which used to be Orchard Field) - there is a high-end mall called Old Orchard in Chicago, which has nothing to do with Orchard Field. The developer was given the name by Mrs. Marshall Field, who said her father couldn't remember her fiance's name and called him "Orchard" instead of "Field."

Hey, it's late - the useless data just comes flowing out like guacamole from a thin tortilla...
