[livejournal.com profile] philarich74 reminded me that we haven't figured out our New Year's Eve plans yet... any of you want to chime in with an opinion? I've been instructed already that Ottawa is the only acceptable option, but Elyse has no livejournal so now's your chance to try to convince me otherwise... :)

Option 1: As we drive back from New Brunswick on December 30th, we stay in Montréal for two nights, and have a party at our hotel. Possibly hit a club or something, but NYE is a very expensive time of year for such things. Then drive home on the 1st.

Option 2: As we drive back from New Brunswick on December 30th, stay one night in Montréal (and hopefully visit friends), then continue to Ottawa for a NYE party in a hotel suite with friends there, then drive home on the 1st.

Option 3: As we drive back from New Brunswick on December 30th, stay one night in Montréal, then drive home on the 31st. Probably do nothing at all for NYE, unless a party appears here.

Ottawa Vote!

I was thinking option 2 all along. We're already invited to stay with D and D in Montreal.

We are having a sequel to our last New Years party if you want to be here, in reality or in spirit.

Plans on this end are still up in the air. Elyse is trying to figure things out, although I'm sure *something* will happen.

By that point I'll probably be staying in Constance Bay for a few weeks until I move to Maine, but I should be able to make
NYE things.

So what's your deal, you're in, you're starting in January?

Yup. Took an apartment, pretty much have the finances figured out, my parents have offered to drive me down... (can I stand 12 hours locked in a car with them?). This will be country number 4 that I'll have to get the equivalent to a SIN number in. (I'm going to get a work study position while in school, so it will be neccesary).

Haven't quit my jobs yet though... gotta start thinking about that.

Maybe my new goal should be to try to get a SIN/whatever-the- particular-country-calls-it-number in every country!

When do you go? We're driving from ON to NB Dec 26-27, and back Dec 30-31... will we cross paths?

No, classes don't start until Jan 11th. I'm hoping to be up there for about the 6th.

I vote option #4. Stay in Fredericton and have a good ol' maratime kitchen party somewhere.

No. 2: Ottawa! Admitedly, we can't offer the amenities that Montréal can (read strippers), but I'm sure that between everyone we can arrange for some fun times! I always have a comfortable, queen-sized sofa bed available for the two of you, and I can guarantee that the the mattress won't fall out of the frame (unlike previous sleeping accomodation I have provided you in the past).

The question is, was it *sleeping* that caused it to fall out...?

That would be a far more interesting explanation, but unfortunately a box-spring to narrow for the bedrails was to blame... I can't imagine that sleeping at a lateral 10 degree angle is much fun.
