(A) First, recommend to me (with reasons!):
1. a movie:
2. a book:
3. a musical artist, song, or album:

(B) I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions, no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.

(C) Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends to ask you anything. Alternately, you can play truth or dare.

1. "High Fidelity" -- it's quirky and funny, and Tim Robbins is totally hilarious. The "fantasy" scene of Rob's confrontation with Ian in the record store is a classic.

2. "Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman -- If I had read this book in junior high or high school, I'd be a physicist right now. Simply the best book on Feynman, by Feynman. It's even one of Jackie's favorite books, so you know it must be good!

3. "Bonobo -- Dial 'M' for Monkey" -- in my opinion, the best album of the trip-hop genre, maybe the best album of any kind ever, period. I defy anyone to not enjoy this album.

1. What's more important: happiness or security?
2. What's your favorite curse word?
3. If God exists, what do you want him to say to you when you reach the pearly gates?

C. Done.

1. Important for me, or for others? I want to say happiness, because security is too close to Homeland Security Terror Alerts Etc. But when I'm in parenting mode, Security wins. Not in a freakish Dennis Miller nuke the middle east way, though.

2. Fuck. It's just so versatile. (insert fuck-centric internet forward here) I also like subtle curses, like weasel. I dislike the word cunt.

3. The same thing they said when I entered the gates of Black Rock City: Welcome home.

1. The Poseidon Adventure.. its got Shelley Winters in it and come on regardless of camp value it really is an enjoyable movie

2. I've got two I'm reading now that you might like The New Nuclear Danger: George W. Bush's Military-Industrial Complex by Dr. Helen Caldicott and COCAINE: An Unauthorized Biography by Dominic Streatfeild. I've been reading both of these on and off since August and they are enjoyable - especially on the bus, or the bath or late at night when you can't sleep.

3. Damien Rice from Ireland.. not only is he very very sexy and I want to sleep with him but his voice will make you melt. My favorite songs are I Remember which will huant your dreams with sadness and The Professor & La Fille Danse, which is a great song that will make you laugh.

B) Three questions...

1. what are you doing tomorrow?
2. What time is it right now?
3. Please in less than a 100 words could you explain the theory behind E=MC2?

1. Working, then relaxing. Hopefully not too much else.
2. 15:34 EST
3. The energy required to move something increases very fast as you speed up. Once you become very heavy, or the speed increases, the energy requirements become prohibitively high. Many believe that because c^2 (the speed of light squared) is so insanely high, we can never go faster than the speed of light. I think it's a crock.

(A) First, recommend to me (with reasons!):
1. a movie:
2. a book:
3. a musical artist, song, or album:

Movie: Hmm. The best movie I've seen in a while is Dancer in the Dark, starring Bjork. I think it has been out for a while, so you may have already seen it.

Book: I don't generally read fiction, but if you are into non-fiction I would recommend "From Ape to Super Species", by David Suzuki (and Holly Dressel I think). In a nutshell, it's about the relationship between environmentalism, economics, social justice, and globalization. Based on how well I know you, I think you would really find it interesting.

Musical Artist: Ron Sexsmith, because he's original, not over produced, he's Canadian, and he's coming to Halifax next week. Yay!

(B) I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions, no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.

Three questions. This one's tough:

1. Where is the favourite place that you have ever visited?
2. Are you doing what you intended to do as a career?
3. Who do you think should win the Greatest Canadian contest?

Don't ask me where I got these dumb questions. I couldn't think of anything else.

Bjork makes my head hurt. :) Haven't read that one, and shall sometime. I'll hunt for some Ron Sexsmith too.

1. Black Rock City (the spot in the desert where Burning Man takes place). It's constantly changing, and felt very open and free.

2. For the most part. What I wished for? No. But when considering "pays actual money" and "doesn't pay shit", I had to go with paying the bills.

3. Probably Trudeau. If only to encourage bilingualism, equal rights for all, and interesting politicians instead of mumbles and bumblers. Anybody but Don Cherry would work.

1. Having just watched High Fidelity, Ben took my answer. Umm.... The Lion in Winter. Perfectly combines many of my favourite things -- British History, queer content, Anthony Hopkins, Katherine Hepburn, and psychology.

2. The Last Emperer. Made alongside the movie, so lots of overlap but really rounds out Pu Yi's personality. Also, because it's a book it gets to give a lot more attention to some of the history just prior to his ascension

3. Being predictable Jason -- Walk Unafraid by REM. No, they're not the only band I listen to but because they're playing here in concert tonight and I'm not going, I'm thinking about them a lot. Plus, I think the message of the song is very Cam in some ways. To pick a non-REM song, I'll go with Working Class Hero by John Lennon. I love my political folk songs.

B)

1) So, what's going on with the adoption talk? Not that this is a fast moving kinda topic, but my interest is peaked.

2) *What* is your favourite colour? (space filler and python link all at once)

3) If you had the power of God for one moment, what would you do with it and why?

1. Piqued. We're thinking about it, but have not done anything other than chat. There are lots of travel plans, and back-to-school plans, that we have, so I think we need to figure out exactly which plans come first.

2. Blue. But not all blues. there's a really nice one I like that's hard to describe.

3. Make humans see the world through each other's eyes, not just their own.

Freaks and Geeks (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0193676/) – Yeah, it’s a TV show, not a movie – but I haven’t had the attention span for movies as of late. “Quirky teen comedy set in mid ‘80s suburban Detroit”. Kind of like Degrassi, only with better production values.

The Lexus And The Olive Tree (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0385499345/qid=1100217027/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/002-4103184-6579266?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) – An interesting look at globalization. How it works. Why it’s good. Why it’s bad. How we can make it better.

Death Cab For Cutie (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/artist/glance/-/174497/ref=m_art_dp/002-4103184-6579266) – Because I haven’t found a new musical obsession since falling for Ben Gibbard.

1. If you could live in any city in the world, which would you pick?
2. If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go?
3. If you have to pick a place never to visit ever again, what would you pick?

C

Everyone on my friends list is on your friends list so putting this on my LJ would be a moot point – so I’ll play T or D instead. T or D Cam?

1. I'd love to live in London for a while. New York too, despite the whole scary-US-of-A thing. Places where the very streets are screaming out their vibrancy.

2. Everywhere. There is nowhere I don't want to visit. Something near the top of the list? Egypt, or Japan, or Brazil.

3. Cambridge, Ontario. I would have chosen Kitchener, but that would be tough to do at the moment. Some days, I can really see never again coming here after we leave. Vinny had a coworker go on and on about not believing in evolution today. It's uncomfortable.

And finally: Truth!

1a. You Can Count On Me. Laura Linney just knocks me on my ass. I just love her. If you have an older sister with whom you're close, this movie will make you cry. I bawled in the theatre and my (now) ex just stared at me like I was nuts...

2a. Anything by Augusten Burroughs... and I mean anything. Nobody makes me laugh and cry like this guy does. He's a genius. And I think he came into my Starbucks the other day (his book tour is in eastern MA this week) but I didn't have the scrotum to ask if it was, in fact, he or not.

3a. Hmmm... Sasha Lazard - The Myth Of Red. Take a classically-trained voice, give it some songs in Latin, English and French, then remix most of it. It's nuts but I fell in love with it when I lived in Los Angeles. Her voice is fab.

and then...

1b. If I moved to Canada, would you be open to a temporary house boy?

2b. Keeping an open mind, name one woman (famous or otherwise) who you would sleep with.

3b. Before we were all Bush-whacked again, is there a city in the states where you and your lovely Mister would consider living?

1. All our friends are welcome in our home, of course. Now, if we're talking longer-term, we better have a chat. Remember what the guest booking form says.

2. Angela Bassett.

3. Can't speak for Vin, but I could live in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, and probably Boston. But that's about it, I think. It would have to be near ocean, very progressive, and have major airports with cheap flights everywhere. :)

Actually, doesn't the guest booking form say something about a top secret handbook of rules and regulations that you can't see unless you have a confirmed reservation?

Maybe it's too early for me to be thinking... LOL
