Is your web browser (which is 90% likely to be Internet Explorer) feeling slow, tired, and flaky? Are you ready for a change? Feeling like you should be rebelling against Microsoft since you're not really a shit-leaver-aloner in the rest of your life?

I just downloaded and installed Mozilla FireFox, the free, open-source high-speed web browser from the Mozilla (originally Netscape) gang. High quality, faster, more standards-compliant. I'm enjoying it so far. It's only a browser, nothing else (no chat, no email, no IM, no dancing butterflies, so it's quite speedy.

FireFox has cool features like tabbed browsing (rather than open tons of separate windows, it keeps them all organized by tabs at the top), and it has a Google search box right in the toolbar as well.

Not only that, but you can add any other search engine to the box, if you prefer others. Including cool ones like Babelfish's translater! So when [livejournal.com profile] jemappellevinny posts something new, you can more easily figure it out! :-)

The coolest thing I've learned so far is that "ottawa limos" is "acharné" in French.

I've been using FireFox (FireBird, Phoenix...) for quite some time. I had switched from the main Netscape / Mozilla browsers to save space.

You should try the Bookmark Toolbar... basically bookmarks as buttons. I've got some common ones there and it saves a few clicks. Weather, news, TV listings... all good ones.

Thumbs up for the change.
