Yay for more home improvements! You would not BELIEVE how much these change how the house feels. Today we're doing some painting -- look at us! All home improvementy!
Well, our house is quite old and everything that we replace is a real rebuild, so we chose an all-in company which would measure, build, build new door frame, and install, tearing out all the old stuff and making it nice and new. This was quite nice, but also kinda pricey. If you don't need a new door frame, just a new door, or you can install a door perfectly well yourself, you can save a lot just by buying from Home Depot. Our cost was over $3000 for the two doors. (ugh)
We're in the same boat (we live to the south of you) - old house, nothing is square. If I tried to hang a new door, I presume that it would never quite close properly. We've been putting it off because of the cost. Who did you use?
They did our windows last year, and we were quite pleased with the work and the price, so we got them to do our doors. I was less impressed by the price of the doors, but I think that's more because I didn't know how much it would be. But good work, helpful office staff, and six months no payments! I'm such an ad for them.
ok - so this isn't about renovating but it's about homes for sale and the awful photos real estate agents advertise with... oh and the witty comments made by the blogger - enjoy! ;)
