Uncle Bobby's Wedding

There's a new kids' book out there called Uncle Bobby's Wedding which will be appearing in the news repeatedly I think -- in the tradition of Heather's Two Mommies and others. It's just a little kids' book about same-sex marriage.

The reason I post this is to link you to this: a librarian gives a calm and thoughtful response to a complaint about it, and explains the underlying philosophy of a free and open library system.

Shocking. Absolutely shocking. This isn't a book about same-sex marriages, but rather a children's book about marriage between guinea pigs that wear clothes. I am vehemently opposed to marriage between guinea pigs that wear clothes, and if I had children I would be very concerned about efforts such as this one to attempt to normalize such unions for children. I would hope and pray that all public libraries will be purged of this obscene material immediately.
