I'm in Halifax this weekend for work -- teaching for a company that can't shut down their help desk for two business days, so the class is on the weekend -- and having a good time. I wish I had more time; there's so much I want to see and do, since I'm here so infrequently.

Friday I arrived early enough to actually go to the office for a meeting regarding instructors recruiting -- it was productive, which was nice. I was worried it was going to be a big bash Cam session.  Then I went to Jane's on the Common for dinner: wonderful as always. Jane remembered Vincent and I and we chatted a bunch. I can't believe it's been four years since she opened!

Later I dropped in at Splice Training, a shop run by our friend Woody, for a quick hello. I wish I could have stayed out, but I was concerned that I needed a full night's rest for my day of training today. As it turns out: ha!

I did get a full night's sleep, but I certainly won't tonight, and I still have a full day of teaching tomorrow!  Today I taught, went for dinner at good old Momoya, wandered around J W Doull's Books (best description of the store ever) for a while and bought some books for the flight home. Then I wandered over to Kevin's to await the arrival of our practically Kiwi friends Andrew and Phil. A wonderful coincidence that they're in Halifax visiting the same weekend I'm here -- I'm thrilled to see them and be able to be around for the fun.  We had a drink and then went to Reflections for a bit of drinking (SOOO cheap compared to TO) and dancing. So weird seeing so many familiar faces, and yet still feeling like everyone is unfamiliar.

Tomorrow it's teaching, more time with K&A&P, and then the airport and a flight home. Woo!  I really should get to bed -- have you noticed the time?  Urgh.
