Put in a transition. You can buy metal (brass/bronze/aluminum) ones if they work the the decor. You can buy/steal/make hardwood/laminate ones. And you can also get stone ones made - slate or granite or some such

(When you are looking for them, the key word is 'transition' - it is tough to find things if you don't know the language)

The key things to know when looking for them is the height difference between the two materials, the gap width and the type of materials

I have got a strip of 'harvest pine' laminate transition that would probably span an inch gap. I've got about a 5' length - how long is the gap?

No idea whether or not that'd work with your decor, but you can have it if it will work

Hey there -- thanks for the offer! We have three doorways to cover, so 5' won't be enough, but it would certainly be enough to try, and maybe we could match it. If the piece has any value to you at all, keep it, and we'll just go pick up the pieces we need, no biggie.

The height difference is almost nil actually, but both have an altitude of ~0.5" off the concrete. Possibly 0.25" for the carpet and 0.5" for the tile -- I haven't measured yet, but of course will do so.
