Cost for [livejournal.com profile] c9 & [livejournal.com profile] leapfish to go on a little October trip. Kitchener to Ottawa Kitchener to Montréal Kitchener to Ottawa to Montréal to Kitchener Kitchener to Montréal to Ottawa to Kitchener
Air * $200 shuttles + $568 flights $200 shuttles + $638 flights $200 shuttles + $1618 flights $200 shuttle + $1618 flights
Train $432 $471 $530 $519
Bus $385 $531 $528 $516
Rental Car ** $194 + 1256km worth of gas $194 + 1356km worth of gas $194 + 1447km of gas $194 + 1447km of gas

* From Kitchener we can only fly to Detroit. Not helpful in this instance. There used to be Kitchener-Ottawa and Kitchener-Montréal flights. Those would have been awesome.
** Rental car mileage*** is estimated based on the raw distances plus the expected driving around in the cities.
*** It's very common to say mileage in Canada despite the use of kilometres. I know that it's currently because we're still in a generational transition from miles to kilometres, but I wonder if that specific word will ever fall out of use?

And you come up with numbers like 1256, 1356, 1447??? You must know exactly how much driving around you'll be doing. :)

And kilometrage just sounds odd, doesn't it? I don't even know where to put the stress.

I took the actual distances and added 100 or 200 km. :)

Kilometrage is hard to say.

It's just a weekend, not a week or two. Not that it helps I'm sure. :)

Kilometrage is easier to say if you use a French accent.

Oh, and you should most definitely do both Ottawa and Montreal.

Yeah, I love both and would happily move to either, so I'd like to do both.

It's in the "nuh-uh" column. We can fly out of Kitchener directly which is nice, but the flights are $618 each. If we fly out of Toronto, they're only $494 each, but there's the $200 shuttle. Sorry dude. :)

I'm so disappointed in you, Cam... it's 90 000 pounds in my pyjamas... 40 000 french francs in my fridge!
