43°

It's going to be 43° here tomorrow. 43°. And what did we decide to do? Go to Canada's Wonderland* of course. We are going to melt. Suggestions for things to bring that are not going to be a nuisance every time we get on the rollercoasters, since that's the primary goal for the trip?

* "Paramount Canada's Wonderland" is the actual name of the park, though Paramount sold it so it will be somebody else's Canada's Wonderland soon. Basically I wanted to specify that the "Canada's" portion is not just me condescending to my American friends. I do that, just not right now.

Update: An opportunity to condescend** presents itself quickly. That's 43° Celsius.

** ...and I mean condescend in the nicest way of course.

ROFL!!! You know my American brain goes right to Farenheit when you post numbers... and it took me several seconds to realize you were talking about Celsius.

God, someone switched me over to decaf this morning. I'm fucked. :-P

Haha yes, I guess that's an opportunity to condescend right there. :)

Jeez. Gatorade. Sunscreen. Wide-brimmed hats (take 'em off on the coasters, I guess). Please don't die.

(Thanks for the invite yesterday, but you're quite right about neck pain and rollercoasters. And neck pain and stupid-hot weather, too, heh.)

No worries, definitely won't die. Did this last year too. It wasn't quite as hot, but was still insane.

43? Looking at the weather report for Kitchener it says hight of 31 with thundershowers... Barrie is even cooler at a "mild" 28 with thundershowers.

I haven't been to C.W. in a long time, they must have a lot of new rides by now. I think the last time I was there, some of the coasters were closed because of thunder storms. ;-(

With Humidex. And Canada's Wonderland isn't actually in Kitchener, but North York or somesuch.

Ah Humidex. But you said, "It's going to be 43° here tomorrow." which is why I looked up Kitchener, and also posted the weather for Barrie since it is pretty close by no?

Barrie's two hours away, plus it's on Georgian Bay so the weather's often very different. But I did say "here". Mostly because the people on my friends list are 98% non-Kitchener-Waterloo residents.

It's supposed to feel like 40C here today. I miss winter. No, seriously.

Quickdrying shorts and something waterproof for your wallets...that way you can alternate between fun water-stuff and rollercoasters (which will actually sound like a better idea tomorrow than you might think today...seriously, it's what we do every time we go..because it always ends up in the 40s)

Yes, I was going to suggest that you skip the rollercoasters and hit the waterpark and water rides. The one where you ride the huge round thing through down the river and the log flume beside it were always my favourites.

Other than that I suppose you could just recall your survival tactics from Burning Man...

Water rides are in my plans, but Vinny doesn't do them so I need to prevail upon our other companions.

At Burning Man the choice was stay in the sun and die, or hide in the shade having quiet conversations. I was OK with that, but paying to do it at Wonderland seems silly. :)

You could go see the shows. Dorky, but air conditioned. :-).

Way too dorky. I can download shows off the internet if I need shows. (and that's not dorky at all)

It was 20° and raining here yesterday and people scowled at me when I said I enjoyed it. I'm sorry. I enjoy wearing pants and shoes to work. I enjoy not melting into a puddle every time I go outside. I enjoy not having to keep the fan in my office on full blast all day.

Of course, it's 31° right now and supposed to stay that way all weekend, so I fail to see why they had to scowl on me for one decent day. Sometimes I wish I lived in London.

Come to San Francisco! It's chilly and overcast for at least part of every day. If you're really lucky the fog will be low enough that you get wet while walking to the train.
