The long form* of the 2006 Canadian Census features this question:
43. In this work, what were Cameron MacLeod's main activities?
    Please give details. For example:
  • prepared legal documents
  • installed residential plumbing
  • guided fishing parties
  • made wood furniture products
  • taught mathematics
I can't think of a response that doesn't depress me.

* 80% of Canadians get the short form, with eight questions. 20% of Canadians get the long form, with 52 questions. I was so excited to see the long form in the envelope. Wooo!

Update: Apparently StatsCan doesn't quite have their shit together on the internet thing. My census died on the LAST QUESTION, then when I got back in nothing was saved. I tried again and it died on question 35 or so. I'm just doing it on paper, with a strong note in the comments section about wanting to complete it electronically.

Looks like we got the short one as well, although there are actually 8 questions not 6.

Yes, you're right. I did read six somewhere, but I'll fix that.
