do you know how much i despise arial?
can i just count the ways??

(though, ANYTHING is better than comic sans)

anyway, i'm not a big fan of verdana, either. i love love Trebuchet, and the Lucida and Gill Sans families.

for actual print, though, you can't beat Bookman and Baskerville families.

but i've ALWAYS hated helvetic AND arial.

they just look BAD.

though, now i can't decide if i want to discuss web fonts or print fonts.

There's this guy who volunteers with Wayves (that glbt paper I'm always going on about) who, from a distance of 20 feet, can identify the typeface, the variant of the typeface, the weight, and the freakin' leading. It's spooky.

i could compete up to identifying the font, variant, (sometimes even the generic versions of the actual fonts) and weight. but leading? not so much.

i kind of miss my reprographics career.
