Micro-shipment-managing
Feb. 2nd, 2006 07:40 amI wonder if the shipping companies all regret the invention or tracking number web sites? Micro-managing customers (like almost but not quite me) must drive them batty.
For example, the large hardware order I made on Tuesday has already shipped (yay!) in three separate boxes, with three separate tracking numbers. So I can see where each component is. And Purolator provides such detail that I can see when each boc was picked up, when it left Vancouver, and when it became "In Transit." As a ground order, I'm not sure what else I'll see before it gets local.
The problem is this:
- Box #1 became "In Transit" four minutes after leaving Vancouver.
- Box #2 became "In Transit" four minutes after leaving Vancouver.
- Box #3 has left Vancouver, but is not yet "In Transit."
Follow the excitement here.
What does it all mean?!?
