Tonight we went for drinks at [livejournal.com profile] benjidacruick's place. Lots of fun. Too many martinis. Had a fun time.

Left and walked to the bar with the gang, but we oddly seemed to shed people along the way. Even my husband decided to ditch me. :-( Found everyone at the bar eventually though.

Weird, small world thing: met a friend of a friend, and we got to chatting a bit, and he went to the same high school as me. I didn't recognize him because he's NINE YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME. Gah.

I'm old.

I can almost see my high school from my balcony. Until recently, when I started brewing my own coffee, I was walking down Yonge St from Starbucks, passing all the kids heading to high school.

The first time was very bizarre to me. I even found baby-mes.

I kinda hope they have another Alumni gala for the concert this year. It's different from when I was there, but change is inevitable. I just enjoyed being drunk in the auditorium.

No, he's nine years younger than you too. :)

I could pick him out of a lineup, but that's about it. His name is either Brian or Brad, I'm pretty sure Brad. He's my height and build, brown hair. Age 20.

I used the school feature on LJ to see if anyone from my high school in Philadelphia was on here.

I found five people - four of whom were fifteen years younger than me. The other one was only two years younger, so I sent him an e-mail. He and his partner live in California now after years in New York. The year after I left Philadelphia his class ascended to the "Upper School" so he had interaction with my class, and he fell in with my old circle of friends. His best friend was the kid who had a crush on me when he was in 7th grade and I was in 10th.

I'm so glad I was naive when I was 15 - having cute little kid who's only 12 all hot for you and knowing what to do about it would not have been a good situation.

Hmm... ought to crank up the old word processor when I get home tonight...

A gay 7th grader as the love-stricken aggressor... hmm...

Trippy. Inspired by miket61's comment I looked up my old high school, and the high school were most of my friends went after seventh grade. I found the lj of one of my best friends, who I've fallen out of touch with over the years. \o/!

*yikes* I wasn't one of the ditchers was I? Did your husband get his coat alright?

thank thank thank you (x3) for coming last night. It truly was great having you and yours over for martinis. I think I had a few too many though.

*my stomach and head feel like they've been run over by a mac truck*
