Ten points to whomever correctly guesses the item I purchased on the train this morning that contained, according to the ingredients list, "beef fat."

And no, it was not an item containing meat, like a sandwich. Think outside the box!

Update: [livejournal.com profile] heartovmidnight correctly guessed a danish!. I am actually one-quarter Danish, by the by.

I would say fries but I'm not sure if they sell those on the train or not.

Nope. In the US McD's still uses beef tallow, but in Canada they don't. Non-McDonald's fries I'm sure vary.

I vote with nihilicious. Many of those pre-packaged cakes contain beef tallow.

The clues thus far:
  1. A non-meat product that contains beef fat.
  2. A vegetable based product.
  3. A baked product.
  4. Not french fries.
  5. Not a blargh.
  6. Something one would not associate with containing meat product of any kind, let alone beef fat.
  7. Can be purchased on the go.

How about zucchini bread?

I'm not surprised. Beef fat is pretty close to lard, and lard is used in a lot of pastry to make it flaky.

Was it flaky? Or beefy?
