I stored a half-used onion with the half-used cheese a few days ago. I'm currently eating the cheese and there's a pleasant onion aftertaste with the pieces that were exposed. Yum.

! by itself does not necessarily represent NOT, though I'm sure it's used somewhere. Just not in my experience. But != absolutely. :)
