When [livejournal.com profile] leapfish turns on the exhaust fan above the stove, the display on the 17" monitor in the next room starts to shake. They are 3 feet apart, through the wall. Probably on the same circuit, but I'm not sure.

Why is this happening?

Cool. But again, no money right now, so no purchases. :) The plan is a new LCD, but the competing plan is to create a new DVR PC rather than have a desktop at all. Not sure which will win out.

I vote DVR PC. My new LCD is still sitting unused under my desk at work. However, a new DVR PC could have been used to record Simpsons and Desperate Housewives in parallel last night.

1. We have a working VCR which works for the second problem.
2. You have my mailing address, which works for the first problem.

1. Touche.

2. And you have my paypal address. I charge standard 10% markup. (Is this part of your "All Sarah's Monitors Are Belong To Cam" project? Because, if so, you can have the 17" monitor that replaced the one I sold you that Brian borrowed "for the weekend" two years ago.)

I'll happily pay 10% of the value. Or did you mean more than that? :)

M.A.R.K. U.P.

Though, you can have my other monitor for free if you take it from Brian when you're here in December.

Yeah, but markup on top of what? I wasn't sure if this was something work supplied, so the markup would be on top of "having to lift it off my chair after the mailroom dropped it off" or on top of "$299 US"

Markup on top of the $373USD I paid for the thing. Trust me, 10% of the time and effort spent getting it from my office floor to the UPS store would amount to much, much more than $37.30.

(tiny violin) :-)

I want a 17" LCD, but I'm REALLY not interested in being ripped off with prices like that. Not that you're trying to rip me off (much), but rather that I can find prices like $250+tax CDN, and I just want to get down to $200 or so. I'm cheap.

Also note that the monitor in question is much nicer than the 17" version work supplied. And I'm not in the habit of reselling MSFT-owned electronic equipment...yet.
