Well, thumb trouble actually. This morning, after 15 hours of being bandaged, the cut was still open and a-gushin', so I decided it was time to get some professionals involved. A quick call to work to spoil their morning (as I was supposed to teach), and then I'm off to ER. Conveniently, just a 15-minute walk away.

Very quiet in the ER this morning, so they saw me, shot me full of tetanus, cleaned me up, and bandaged me much better quite quickly. I'm now home, typing one-handed still, waiting for my dear husband to come home and make me lunch, as I'm not allowed to touch the sharp things any more. :-)

Finally!

Now they can all beat their chests about it for a couple months and it will be over.*

Attention Haligonians: Your presence is requested!

I'm coming to Halifax to teach Feb 7-11. I arrive Feb 6 at 22:00 or so, and will be staying at the corporate apartment* downtown, above Smitty's. I have nothing to do after 4pm Monday through Thursday, and would like that rectified please. Friday I leave early to fly back and see my loving husband who doesn't get these paid-for trips to Halifax quite as often (the score is 2-1 for me so far).

If you're planning any events, or attending any fun cotilions, please tell me so I can join in the fun! I am also free for lunches during the week for all you business-types. :)

* Sounds swankier than it is. Or rather, it would have, had I not added "above Smitty's" to the end of the sentence. But anyway, the place has high-speed Internet, but no phone. Silly. I may have a cell phone with me though.

...not that it really affects me. My favourite bar in Halifax, Club Vortex, is disappearing. Not closing, but rather being replaced by Club NRG. I knew something like this had to eventually happen, it's just that I think NRG pretty much sucks. I hope that really it's Vortex changing its name, but remaining the place I like.

It all started with that moron who stole all the money, leading Vortex to be stuck with a new owner that already owned a different bar five doors down. Bleh.

I wonder if our beloved Five Minutes Of Fame will even exist when we come to town in March?
