Home Improvement Suggestions
Jun. 10th, 2005 07:13 pmOur kitchen project will be hitting high-gear soon. IKEA has charged us for all our cabinetry, so they'll look at delivering it within 2 weeks I think. Our new fridge and stove arrive on Monday. We're talking to a friend about countertop and installation options. But we still have so much to do! It's scary.
- remove old paint from kitchen
- decide on new kitchen wall colour
- paint kitchen
- remove shitty stucco from ceiling
- paint ceiling
- remove old cabinets
- somehow get rid of cabinets somewhere
- assemble all the new cabinets
- install all the new cabinets
- remove shitty linoleum floor
- install new tile floor
- make sure that everything fits back together OK
- install countertop, sink, faucet
- connect dishwasher
- clean everything up
What I'm stressing about is what order to do everything in. Basically, should we paint and do the floor before the cabinets? Or just paint? Paint after the cabinets are removed, but before the new ones go in? It's ridiculous. And of course our kitchen will be totally unuseable for at least a couple weeks.
It's to the point where I want to start right now, just so that I can say we're under way. Even though it might be pointless.
