I did get to Winnipeg before dawn. But I needed to figure out where I was going in the morning, so I couldn't just pass out. And the damn internet at the hotel wouldn't work. Luckily, the support line just found my MAC address and gave me full access with no login for the week. Score one for the Hampton Inn and Suites.
The hotel is pretty stylin', actually. The lobby entrance has hello written on it in cool sans-serif lower case letters. And the elevator told me to smile, using the same font. And the shampoo told me... umm... to shampoo. Using the same font. And this morning they had free breakfast, and it was excellent. So I totally am staying here in future if I return to Winnipeg.
This city is very flat. I'm on the 19th floor and I'm pretty sure I can see the Calgary Tower. It's also very cold, like -27 cold. But it's a dry cold, so you could go out with just a sweatshirt as long as you don't use your nose. As soon as moisture gets in your nose it starts to freeze solid, but hey. Reminds me of Ottawa on the Canal.
Time for some lunch.
Update, after a sandwich: What else makes the hotel cool? The hotel has a king size bed, a cool bathroom (as opposed to the painfully ugly bathroom most hotels have), and the Globe and Mail for free each morning (as opposed to the National Post like many others).
