My previous entry about cats was still in the maybe column, but they've now confirmed two cats for us, and given us names, pictures, and we'll be getting them on Friday! Woohoo!


This is CoalAction Cat.

And this is GretzkyLucky.

I suspect Vinny will wish to rename one or both, which kinda bothers me at the moment. Not sure why, I haven't really thought about it much yet. I plan to insist that new names at least rhyme, so as to reduce the confusion on the boys' parts. (yes, both boys, both young, both declawed, both rescued just as they were about to be euthanized)

Action Cat is the name of a cat that was lost in our old neighbourhood in Halifax, and Princess Leah Luckybuttons is the name of Timothy Olyphant's (YUM!) cat in Go.

Coal looks like the kind of cat that will wake you violently if you oversleep and miss his breakfast. Gretzky, on the other hand, looks like the kind of cat who is scared of everything. Including dustbunnies.

Definitely not scaring us off children, don't worry. This is more of a bit of practice having living beings depend on us (other than plants).

Remember -- any cat can be made to get along with another cat by putting them in over-turned milk crates and slowly bringing them closer together.

Of course, once you remove the milk crates, all bets are off!

Hitting the road to get them in 5 mins. Picking them up at the Hamilton shelter! No renaming decisions yet.
