Degrassi: The Next Generation is getting pretty adult! They've had a kid get shot, they covered oral sex and stars actually getting gonnorhea, and they even said ass!

And in case you care, in January Kevin Smith (writer/director of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Jersey Girl) will be guest-starring in a couple episodes. Woooo!

In other TV related news, I've decided to rename "The Amazing Race" to "The Arrogant Race". The contestants behavior in the streets of Senegal was shocking, just shocking! :-)

CBS would never allow it, but it would be fun to follow the AR crew around from place to place getting the reactions of the locals as they storm through. I think there might be more than a little American bashing, tho :-)

Yeah, degrassi is good. Watched it for the first time last night and now I'm hooked. I"m a little lost on the story lines though, so I may have questions like:

what was going on with the guy in the wheelchair and the blonde kid in "scenes from the next episode". How do they know each other?

They're former best friends. The blonde one accidentally shot Jimmy. Or at least, that's my guess. I'm also out of the loop. Go to degrassi.tv and you can catch up quick though.

I just don't get Degrassi, new or old. It's all Can-Con suckovision to me. It's not like I haven't tried to like it. I tried hard but it all sucked horribly. Suck! Suck! Suck! Thankfully I've now blocked it all out except for that episode of old Degrassi with the freaky woman protesting outside the abortion clinic with a toy fetus screaming "this is your baby"
