The play: The Bear, by Anton Chekhov. Also sometimes translated as The Boor, interestingly. EDIT: Jan 20-22.

The role: Luka, servant to the mistress of the house.

The entire script, actually, is behind that last link. Or, alternately, this one.

YAY!

Having now read it, I daresay it is interesting. A little goofy, but then Chekhov's plays often are. I play the old fart, so who knows what goofiness shall result?

I just read it... sounds interesting. Hopefully your crazy work schedule doesn't carry over into Jan. Break a leg, Cam.

Yeah, I'm going to have to book off a bit of time or warn my boss, just to make sure I stay in the same city for January...

A Chekhov Play?

Not at all! It bothers me when people get upset that people find their journal -- you're on the freakin' internet! So welcome!

I actually teach computers, that pays the bills. Acting (well, any association with theatre actually) is a passion that I've neglected for far too long. Certainly, I'd be OK with getting on tv, or into movies, but I don't in any way see those as likely.

If I could make a living in theatre, I absolutely would, but I know that I wouldn't be successful financially. Ah well. It's the theatre that's important, so being involved will keep me happy. :)
