I am inaugurating what I hope will become a regular feature of this journal, and not just a one-time upbeat bit, and a single downtrodden bit, followed by silence. What is it? Something about me and theatre. I think that if I do get involved again, I'll probably have lots to say, and I'll drive my loving husband [livejournal.com profile] leapfish insane. Therefore, I better get it out of my system electronically first to make him love me more. :-)

KW Little Theatre is holding a one-act play weekend towards the end of January, and tonight was the last night of auditions. I went, and had a great time! First I had to fill out a form talking about things I've done, and my schedule. Then I got to act out a short monologue from Stage Manager's Nightmare (at least I think that was the title), playing it straight and playing it as a motivational speaker. I made them laugh a lot, which felt really nice.

Next I got to do some dialogue from a one-act by Chekov, in which I'm a guy who wants his money owed by this rich tart. We played it straight, then less angry, then totally overacted. Again, good reactions from the directors.

Sidenote: I feel like Wil Wheaton when I tell stories about auditions. That's interesting.

The casting should be done by Friday. Further bulletins as events warrant!

I was so thrilled after the audition. I felt far better than I had expected. Good for encouraging me to stay involved. :)
