Backup Officiant for Wedding
Mar. 29th, 2004 10:19 pm(from USAtoday's report on the GLAAD awards dinner)
Some of the evening's biggest applause went to Sharon Osbourne ("My only regret in life is that none of my children are gay") and performer Alanis Morissette, who provided a timely twist on her classic, Ironic: "It's meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful husband."
Earlier, Morissette, sporting a shorter haircut, told USA TODAY her support of gay unions goes a step further than clever lyrics. She recently became ordained as a licensed minister via a quickie online course and said, "My fantasy would now be to marry some of my gay couple friends."
(she's even from Ottawa, where we're having the ceremony! --Cam)
