I'm listening to hold music that includes a piece that sounds exactly like my "New email" ding. It's distracting.

Also distracting is wanting to go home instead of join a conference call.

[livejournal.com profile] quingawaga has the most awesome rich musical "booonngggg" for her email on her peecee. Spooks the crap outta me sometimes when she leaves the stereo (hooked to her puter) on. Happens less these days cuz she's lapz0r girl now.

The elevator in B36 had a chime that sounded a lot like the first two "dings"* of the TTC chime. I'd worked there for at least a year before I stopped catching myself waiting for the third "ding".** So annoying.

*Different notes, same interval.

**I think there's a fancy scientific term for this. But I'm too dumb for Google today. (I continue to blame the Scotch.)

We were on a conference call with-- aw, someone in Europe, and somehow the other end of the line was giving the occasional pair of beeps. Very distinctive beeps.

After the call was done, I looked around and said "Anyone else think that sounded like Tainted Love?" Chorus of agreements.
