...oh, but I do enjoy both.

* I do not have nutritional information for the vanilla syrup. It's probably a bunch of sugar and calories of course.

** From http://www.secondcup.com: "Although we do have some master franchises in the Middle East, namely in the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Jordan and Syria, we are not currently participating in any new international development at this time."

It appears that the Starbucks one is significantly healthier, though... :-)

p/s - and for an extra 40 calories, and no extra fat, you can make it a peppermint mocha or a raspberry mocha or a hazelnut mocha frappuccino.

The Starbucks Frappucinos use non-fat milk, so that I imagine would account for a large part of the difference.

Gah, I'm so craving a Frappucino right now.

However... they are totally deadly when you get them with the whipped cream.

McDonald's "triple thick" shake is just an excuse for them to use soft-serve instead of their old "partially gelatinated gum-based beverage"* mix. There are no more decent fast-food shakes.

*"Wiggum: Do they have Krusty-Partially-Gelatinated-Non-Dairy-Gu m-Based-Beverages?
Lou: Mm-hm. And they call 'em "Shakes"
Eddie: Heh. "Shakes". You don't know what you're gettin'.

They have a "Triple Thick" shake? Last time I had a McDonalds' milkshake, I recall being afraid that the level of suction required would actually turn my lungs inside-out. They offer a version thicker than this?

Actually, they have but one type, known as the Triple Thick. I think it's been around for 3-5 years now at least. But yes, it's thick.

Oh. Well, that's kind of weird. I mean, "Triple" as opposed to what?

I always assumed compared to the old ones. Which themselves were triple the thickness at least compared to those awful awful ones at Chicken Burger in Dartmouth. *shudder*

Well the McDonalds one has more fibre and vitamins so it *must* be better for you? ;-)

Lately we have been getting our shakes (well the 1 or 2 per summer) from a local burger/ice cream/shake joint near our place. Those shakes are amazing and they have 30 different flavours to choose from. Mmmmmmmmmm.
