I am so awesome. Not really. But I figured out how to do this all by myself:

select i.lastname,i.firstname,count(ic.instructorid) as 'Number of Courses' from instructor as i,instructorcourse as ic where i.type='Facilitator' and i.instructorid = ic.instructorid group by i.lastname,i.firstname

This is primarily for my future reference.

Do you mean to tell me that basic PL/SQL was not covered in your program?

Your Master's degree program. And I was just kidding. It's a type of programming for databases called SQL.

LOL. Just because it's a programming language doesn't make it a good one. See COBOL, Java, Modula, Modula-2, Modula-3, Fortan.NET, C#, ...

I refuse to call SQL a programming language until it can recursively compute fibonacci numbers. And if it can, I still refuse to call it a programming language!

I don't know if it can or not. But it can do some scary stuff.

Hehe, I'm slowly falling in love with SQL. I have to write these Java applications that extract info from databases and do somethig or the other with them and seriously, everyday, I find another powerful thing about SQL that eliminates like 30 lines of Java code. :p

I'm exagerating but whatever. SQL RAWKS!
