Yeah, I've blogged about almost all those things -- but if I'm naming names, I do it in a friends-only post and otherwise, I'm discrete about naming actual projects and I *never* name other people (my blog is a window into my life, not theirs).
There's a certain amount of common sense required to be a "responsible" blogger. That being said, I'm amazed at what kids these days* will post into their blogs.
Yep I've done almost all of the above but they're always under a friends lock. I have to be really careful about my current job because they're incredibly anal about security and I' liable to get busted for the slightest thing.
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they did frequent internet searches for references to the company.
Oddly enough, I wrote a post about this last night but ended up deleting it.
If you go back through my old posts from last year, you'll notice I write quite a bit about a guy I work with - and my crush on him. Stupid me, didn't lock any of the posts. He recently got a livejournal, added me, and went back through my entries, thus seeing all the embarrasing things I wrote - including, but limited to - my desire to steal his man juice to make a baby because his own is so adorable.
I *wondered* if that's who it was... I always worry that a cousin or nephew or coworker will get on LJ and I'll have to start paying much closer attention to what I lock...
That's why I lock very nearly everything that I write. If it's just a stupid meme or something I'll leave it open, but everything else is friendslocked.
I know it's not exactly great security, so I still try to refrain from writing stuff that might actually get me fired. But it's better than having everything public.
Yeah... my worry is my laziness. If I started to just friendslock everything, then a cousin or my mother got a livejournal, I would forget and just friend them, leaving it all open to them. :)
Life was so much simpler with paper diaries hidden under pillows...
I think the worst work-related LJ incident I've had was on my first day as a photographer at a local paper, one of the reporters recognized me from the Richmond livejournal community. Her first words, almost yelled across the newsroom, were "Hey, I know you from LiveJournal!"
To be fair, the non-public incident happened while I was working for the student newspaper and it was going to be all over the news the next day anyway; a dead body was found propped against my office window on campus.
I think I leave most references non-specific enough, and I also maintain a protected journal - so the people reading it are people I trust. It would be no different than talking about my day at work with someone from real life, which is not out of the ordinary for me, either. Josh used get an earful on a regular basis.
It would seem that there are ways of handling it or talking about things that don't have to get you in trouble.

We're friends now, but I wanted to kill her.
