Yay for Toys

I ♥ my Harmony 628. It rocks my socks, and is (as required) nifty.

My favourite feature is the fact that I can see my TV listings on our favourite channels right on the remote. Wooo!

My least favourite parts are the expected low battery life, and the way it makes me say stupid things like "our favourite channels."

Interesting... it looks a lot like my 659 except it has transport (play/pause/record/ff/rew) buttons on the bottom and the 628 doesn't appear to have them at all (I can't find any good close ups on Google). What's the backlight like? The 659 has a bright blue backlight that appears to be extraordinarly fickle when it comes to the power of the batteries. With fresh batteries it's so bright you can navigate a toy-strewn floor with it. As the batteries decline, the backlight does completely out. Or that might just be mine particular remote, which has been knocked about a bit.

Giant view

It's been in the house for only 24 hours, so I have no opinions on the battery or backlight yet, other than "nifty!"

I need to pick up some AAA rechargeables; I am NOT churning through real ones on this thing.

Yeah get some good NiMH AAA's. So far we have been bad an haven't bothered to get rechargeables (my bad) for our Harmony because they last about 3-4 months for us so it hasn't entered our "annoying" radar yet and we had some AAA's lying around.

I haven't had to replace the batteries in mine yet, and I've had it for at least five months now.

I imagine with Jo being home and using the remote frequently she gets more usage than "average" so you guys should see even better mileage.
