Here it is, Saturday night, nothing going on. I'm doing laundry. Wheee! I'm actually not complaining, I think I'm fairly content right now. But I do feel like I'm about ten minutes from being bored and wanting to do something. We might be going out to Club Vortex tonight, but not sure.

We're such bar flies now; our first three years in Halifax we hit the bar (Rejections / Infections / Erections / Dejections / Injections, actually called Reflections) once every six months whether we needed it or not. Most often not, we didn't seem to really have much fun, usually. But in the past six months, we've gone out more like once a month or so... sometimes even twice a month! Shocker, I know. But it's more fun now... maybe our attitude(s) toward the place(s) have changed?

I gotta say I like Vortex far more than the other two gay/gayish bars in town that I've been to (ignoring Toolbox as I've never been). Rejections is getting less and less gay and more and more gay-friendly-sorta, I hear -- but to be honest my experience with going there is that the crowd is still 90% gay. Maybe my gaydar is off. My friend (who is bi) has fantastic gaydar, and mine is horrible. I think he stole some of mine when we came out at the same time.

Vortex is a) different: novelty is good; b) a completely different crowd: I like not recognizing everyone all the time, that's also novel; c) not smelly: the smoking room is actually an enclosed room! Despite that being the law in Halifax, most places don't actually have a door on the smoking room, meaning that it's like having a peeing and non-peeing section in a pool. But when I got home from Vortex last Saturday I didn't semll like smoke! I like it; and last but not least (you forgot you were reading a list, didn't you) d) it has a separate, quieter room, where it's far less noisy and far easier to have a conversation! Item D is by far my favouritest thing -- I love being able to sit and chat in a queer-friendly space. Second Cup is nice and all, but it's closed when I'm still happily chatting at 2am. Just not the same.

I feel a need to talk. Not really converse, though I do enjoy that, but this posting's length has pointed out to me that I just need to spill for a while. I wish I had something to spill about to keep you all interested. Anyone still reading?

I think I'll sign off for now. But I'll be back when you least expect it!

I am now drinking a Diet Pepsi.

Will the shocking revelations ever end? :-)

Wouldn't it be funny if I now spilled that Diet Pepsi? Poetic justice.

Coke vs Pepsi

You seem to have taken a liking to Diet Pepsi. Whats with that? Coke is better, in fact, Pepsi is evil.

Proof, Pepsi had Michael Jackson as a spokesperson (not spokesman), and Britney. (Jared may hurt me for that one).

Yeah, yeah. Coke invented Santa too. :)

Did you know that Canada is the only country in the world where Pepsi beats Coke in sales? That random, likely untrue, impossible to really prove fact comes by way of John Temesi.

I'm trying to watch my calorie intake these days, and the whole "10 teaspoons of sugar in one can of pop" thing makes me think twice. At the same time, I dislike the aspartame and sodium in diet pop, so I try to get the worst of both worlds by drinking about 50% of each.

Someday I'll drop pop altogether. Not dedicated enough yet though.

If you felt like spilling, you should have called me. I was home alone watching Down With Love... how fitting.

Feel free to call me and vent whenever you feel the need. I like listening. :)

Aye aye, cap'n. What's Down With Love about? Don't just say "love". :)

It's about Love.... and being down with it. It's pretty self explanatory. A feel good movie about why love sucks... and then a clever twist.
