W, I am led to ask, T F?

I actually really like Verdana.. it is the font that a lot of the documents the NDP uses internally - though we have another font we use for all our external texts, one which we bought the rights to I think (I could be wrong, but it is expensive to use nonetheless), but Verdana is the one we use for all our internal texts - especially here in Nova Scotia

This is a discussion that will be as old as time, Cam... why some interesting posts get virtually no comments, and why some banal posts get tons.

My comment reports are a perfect example... some of those, with barely a peep from me, end up with figures in three digits. :-P

I prefer Trebuchet on the PC, really. On the Mac, I prefer a nice Gill Sans.

no one wanted to tell you that pepsi is better.

so they simply avoided the conversation.

I was always a Coke fiend in my foolish youth, but I do recognize that I enjoy Pepsi more consistently. Diet Pepsi especially, it's far better than Diet Coke. But any of them with the lime chemicals added taste so good!

It's not on purpose - honest. ;-)

(Although, I might as well ask, since we have common font-asies, would it be OK to add you? (It's that, and the fact that you lead my "Popular amongst your friends" list.))

diet pepsi w/lime is my FAVORITE!

and these new "healthy green checkmarks" always make me THINK i'm buying w/lime, and then notice it's not actually true.

so we keep lime juice in the fridge just for this reason.

Did you know those HealthCheck checkmarks are just a PepsiCo brand mark? Any product with the checkmark is owned by Pepsi. It may also be slightly healthy, but one suspects that's not the primary goal. :)

Except for three of them (Finders Keepers, Think Fast, and Carmen Sandiego), they're all originals -- either grabs, grabs I animated, or graphics I made with own little mouse.

And -- thank you. ;)

Augh! And I've been eating nothing but stuff with green marks for months! :-)

Nah, even a green mark won't get me to pick Pepsi over Coke. If I never had anything to drink but Coke Zero, I'd be a happy man for my short, short life. :)

Ahh, Coke Zero. All the aspartame of Diet Pepsi, with extra Acesulfame for fun!

I can't tolerate the 'with lime' stuff. It just tastes boozy to me.

Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry Vanilla, however.......mmmmm.

And I completely agree about the Coke Zero.

It *totally* tastes better though. Not as cloyingly sweet as diet Pepsi or diet Coke.

well

the font conversation DID have a few tangents. (i.e. husbands, me not posting, trolls, and some smacking).

This conversation has me curious. I’m not a huge cola fan, and generally stick to Jones Soda (sugar free black cherry, cream soda and green apple in particular) so I haven’t tasted any of the Cool! New! Cola! Flavours! ™ that have come out since the turn of the century. I decided to take advantage of my free soda benefit and do a little taste testing from the fridge. There weren’t any cool Pepsi drinks so I grabbed a Diet Cherry Coke and a Black Cherry Vanilla Coke instead.
My take?

Diet Cherry Coke – Tastes like a red marker smells. I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing.

Black Cherry Vanilla Coke – Better. Still too much cola flavor for my tastes. And 150 calories a pop – that’s 10% of my recommended daily allowance! I’ll stick to the cola and calorie free tastes of Jones Sugar Free Black Cherry.

YAY METACOMMENTARY

From: [identity profile] c9.livejournal.com
Metacommentary is fun. But here's a question: is your comment also considered metacommentary? The simplistic approach would be to call it metametacommentary, but that seems wrong. Does "meta" include all levels?

Date: 2006-03-01 08:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jamincan.livejournal.com
The problem is, the very same logic defeats the purpose of using 'meta-' entirely. Since 'meta-' doesn't actually affect the inherent meaning of the word at any level, even the first, it is just as redundant to use it in 'metacommentary' as it is to use it in 'metametacommentary'. So I guess the right answer is Yes, it's both metacommentary and metametacommentary (and commentary of course).
