Da da da-da-daaaaaah!
Nov. 26th, 2005 07:44 amThat's supposed to be the Senators' theme. Anybody who's attended a home game in Ottawa knows the music.
UNIONDALE, New York - The star players performed. The depth players took on new roles. The minor league callups delivered. too.Woooooo!
Add it all up and the Ottawa Senators yesterday fashioned what coach Bryan Murray described as perhaps their best team game of the season, a tidy 6-2 victory against the New York Islanders.
That's saying something.
The victory improved the Senators record to 17 wins and three losses, giving the club the most points by an NHL team after 20 games since the Philadelphia Flyers began the 1979-80 season with a mark of 16 wins, one loss and three ties.
In NHL history, only two other teams have started better than these Senators: the 1929-30 Boston Bruins (18-2-0) and the 1925-26 Ottawa Senators (17-2-1). (Story)
