Get in touch with [livejournal.com profile] northbard, they were working on a killer app that'll have more than you and [livejournal.com profile] leapfish will ever need.

I like Novell GroupWise's calendar. It's Web accessable and you can have proxy access to others' calendars. Probably a little more than you really need... but it's there, lol.

Thanks, My IT Solutions Company. Much appreciated. I have no server to run Novell GroupWise server garbage on though. :(

Thank god. Around here, we call Groupwise:

Groupwince
Gruntwise
Groupvice
...

The list goes on. Personally, I don't understand why Novell keeps it around, they should've replaced years ago.

what about something from the mozilla.org project...
it's been a while since i looked, but don't they have an open standards "iCal" of sorts? that can upload files to either a webdav share or a webserver and viewed with something like:

http://www.icalx.com/
or, not as useful, but still free: http://icalshare.com/

there's another site that's pretty cool, but i forget where it is. i have it bookmarked at work though. what about www.mypimp.com (now named hipcal.com ?)

iCal appears to be read-only. Or at least, those sites present it as such? Anyhoo. HipCal is very nice, I like it and hope it goes very far.

My ideal is a calendar that I can edit online anywhere, and can give an add-only URL to friends and family. Maybe I need to get active in suggesting HipCal features.

I have used iCal... but let me see if I can check with a friend of mine in Scotland.

He used an iCal compatible, web-based solution that we could edit online or by uploading an iCal file... it seemed to work really well.

I think he's annoyed with me right now, but I will still try and get the info.

A lot of the web-based iCal presentation systems appear to be read-only at this stage, probably because read-only is easy. Once you get into the ability to edit, you need to worry about repeating events and all that stuff that make life fun.

If you can find a Windows app that can publish to the web using WebDAV the same way Apple's iCal* does, you can use just about any of the web-based read-only apps.

*I hate the fact that Apple chose to call their calendar app "iCal"... "iCal", as a standard for calendaring information, has been around a lot longer than iCal, and it causes no end of confusion.

iCal and/or Evolution and phpicalendar work great for me.

iCal synchs with my Palm via the Missing Sync, and iCal publishes my calendar to the web, which I can then view/edit in Evolution.

Of course, this may not be suitable for Windows. As a replacement, any calendaring app which can publish to iCal/vCal format is acceptable.

And of course, when it's ready, the Hula Project will be more than you ever dreamed of hoping for. :)

No Palm these days. Want it back? I need a PDA-type deal, but it's just not doing it for me right now.

Some way of automating my Outlook-to-whatever deal would be OK. I should investigate that.

Put it up on ebay and donate the proceeds to the charity of your choice. Seriously, if you don't need it.

I have no use for it.

All I have to say is you're sooo lazy! :p

Hey whatever, why am I lazy?? I have to track my personal life, rehearsals, courses I'm teaching, conference calls, vacations, travel time for work, courses I'm tentatively booked for... the list goes on and on, and Vinny often has no idea what city I'm going to be in on a certain day. You got a better idea, punk? :-)

I am looking for something very similar. My main issue is coordinating schedules with me and my wife. I need us both to be able to:

Access the Calendar on our Palm
Sync with "whatever"
Add items to one or both calendars (Without need to "accept" an invitation)
Access the Calendar Online
Compare Calendars for free time.

For me the missing link right now is that I can't find anything that will sync the palm with a *.ical file

I also looked at Yahoo, and while it's close it isn't close enough
