36 hours with Mel, part V
Oct. 16th, 2005 03:36 pm31.5 hours down, and Mel is being a sleepy little angel at my feet. Of course, since he knows he's being talked about. :)
Either he's not used to stormy weather yet, or he doesn't trust me much yet. My parents can take him down to the beach for walks, but he won't come with me. It's a bit of a struggle just to get him 100m from the house. Not a big deal, just interesting to me.
I took advantage of my parents' camera, and snapped some pictures for everyone to actually see what Mel looks like:

Mel on my lap, the camera's timer working but the couch not cooperating in its role as camera-support, so my head's cut off.

Mel in the back yard, tearing into (I think) old sod that was laid down in the past. He rips everything out of the ground, and is very fond of eating pieces of live plants too. Even in the house, my Mom has a hibiscus (sp?) that loses its flowers by rolling them up in a little cigar shape and then dropping them on the floor. Mel sees these as hors d'ouevres.

I swear he looks like a cartoon dog in this one. I just wish it was in focus.
So where is he now? In what is apparently his very favourite (and very risky) place to sleep:
