Where did the default computer players in Hearts on Windows for Workgroups come from? Dave Barry really didn't like them:
By not entering financial information into "Quicken", I have saved many hours of valuable time, which I am able to use productively by playing "hearts". This is a card game that you can play on a computer. In the version I have, you play against three computerized opponents, whom the computer labels "Anna", "Lynda", and "Terri". They are vicious sluts and I hate them.
For Windows 95, new names were chosen, which have survived to this day.

Play hearts against anyone long enough and you grow to hate them :-)

i want to know what this practical joke was. It warms me a little to know that the crazy Microsoft crew does have people with humor.

This blog I read (http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/) features all sorts of excellent stories about why things are done a certain way in Windows. Fascinating stuff. The downside for non-programmers is that every second post is a pretty-in-depth development problem.

I have to ask you something completely different: Have you seen the movie Clue?

Pauline, Michele, and Ben. But by hitting F7 to enter the Options dialog box, you can change them to anything you like.

Such as Mary, Tyler, and Moore.
