I'd just like to mention that someone on a politically-focused(-most-of-the-time) discussion list which I subscribe to just said "...luckily we both like West Wing and Queer As Folk."

This seems to me to be rather unlikely. But I suppose possible.

unlikely? i've seen both, and rather enjoyed both (until i KEPT watching QAF and wanted to stab my eyes out)

but still, just wondering what about the two shows seems to make them almost mutually exclusive...

What I meant (but couldn't really think up a way to say) was that QAF tends to have low-quality writing, acting, and direction: the stab-your-eyes-out aspects you alluded to. West Wing, on the other hand, tends to have very strong writing, direction, and acting. Not universally of course, but more often than not.

So basically I was just trying to say "QAF is dumb, WW is smart, so nobody likes both." Of course that's not true, and it's not even funny. But oh well. :)
