c9: (system report)
Cat update, for those wondering (all two of you): Lucky went in this morning for bloodwork and x-rays.

We were first in, but then the pet hospital had a bad vaccine reaction in a puppy and everything shifted to that, so Lucky got a bit delayed. Then the x-ray machine started misbehaving, so while they have an x-ray of Lucky from below, they have none from the side. The bloodwork shows one of his kidney indicators is a bit off, so they really want that other x-ray to get a better sense of what's going on.

Because of the x-ray problem, they're going to keep him overnight at the hospital and give him some fluids, and get the x-ray tech to fix the machine tomorrow morning. The vet said this is the best thing for Lucky, so our household will have 50% less cat for a night. First time since 2004! It's not one of those fancy hospitals that's even staffed overnight too, which sucks. Makes us wish we'd brought him home and just brought him back in the morning. But he hates his carrier, and hates cars, so I just let him me. I got to visit him, and he was cranky. Hissing, growling, and hiding, even from me. :(

What happens next? She told me, but I didn't really grasp most of it. I need to spend the evening reading up on cats and kidneys and that sort of stuff.

Man, parenting is stressful.

I know you're all worried about Lucky, so here's a puzzle to keep you occupied.
Railroad Tracks, by Craig Kasper.

Lay a single, closed loop of railroad track that travels through every square of the grid. The track connects squares horizontally or vertically, and crosses itself only in the squares with a cross. The track must go straight through the stations, which are the squares containing numbers. As you follow the track, you will visit stations 1 through 13 in order, then return back to station 1.
