Monday Monday, na naaaa, na na-na-na.
Oct. 4th, 2004 04:02 pm- I'm back working in Kitchener, for three whole days this week! I can hardly contain myself.
- After all the travel and restaurants, neither can my pants.
- This morning when I arrived at the office building in which I theoretically work, I forgot which floor Polar Bear was on. I guessed 8, and was correct. A lot of Polar Bear branches are on the 8th floor of their buildings, oddly.
- The computer I'm supposed to burn DVDs with doesn't have USB 2.0, meaning that burning a DVD would take approximately 100,000 years. I conservatively estimate. So Polar Bear is getting the benefit of my notebook computer already.
- I've already ordered a USB 2.0 controller for the machine ($18 at NCIX), and gotten the purchase approved and everything. I was surprised it went through that quickly. Yes, even for just $18.
- Strangely, even hooked up to the USB 2.0 port on my laptop, the external drive is burning at what it claims is "2x" speed. CD duplication is taking about 20 minutes. Yuck.
And on a completely different topic, I've been booked to teach at the Toyota Plant just outside town for a couple days, except the course is actually from 2pm to 9pm (ugh). Buses don't reach there on an appropriate schedule, so it's cab or bike (gotta buy one soon!). Hmmmm. A coworker's friend is selling two cars, adn I mentioned the fact that Ontario may drive us to buy a car, so to speak. I hope not, but I dunno.
