So here I am, bored in Kingston, Nova Scotia. After a whirlwind, stressful week of driving back and forth, I'm finally staying here one night. I need the sleep. Sadly, it's so boring I may hang myself before I fall asleep. Even Spike TV isn't showing non-stop Star Trek anymore! Stupid Highlander.

I need a fun computer game to absorb the time. But being on dialup, I can't download anything larger than 200kb of fun, realistically.

I brought a change of clothes to wear tomorrow while teaching. Logically. But I forgot to bring jeans (casual Friday, especially when I get to make the rules!). So my shirt, a beige golf shirt, will look a little silly with my pants, beige khakis. I fear this outfit, almost enough to go to Zellers and buy replacement jeans. Or possibly shirt.

Please advise. :-)

Dear LiveJournalPaidMembers:

How does the posting by email work? What options are unavailable?

How does posting by phone work? Is it toll free?

Thanks

I want to be rebellious in a conformist sort of way, like when Bart got his ear pierced.

So the clothing dilemmna has been resolved. I went to Jeans Experts, and found some painters' jeans (in which I will not likely paint), and a sweater with some big stripe things on it. "For your love had blinded you to the truth... 100% Acrylic!"

I don't know if the outfit will prove to be sexy, but I'm almost certain I'm now the sexiest-dressed person in a large portion of the Annapolis Valley. There's probably some hotties at Acadia that I'm behind. (comedic pause) So to speak.

Driving around this evening trying in vain to avoid boredom, I noticed that there are a LOT of Chinese Food Buffets in town. I mean, a city can reasonably accommodate a few buffets, but Kingston/Greenwood "metropolitan" area is so small I can't imagine that these restaurants are doing well. Maybe there are cost benefits in the buffet business... But there's this one that has a buffet *every* night, and every single evening I've gone by on previous visits the place has had between 0 and 2 customers. Tonight it was a small woman and her even smaller child. Not buffet targets, I'm sure.

Time to return to boredom activity B (tv), while waiting for boredom activity A (email and livejournal) to recharge.

MuchMusic is talking to musicians about "intense experiences with fans", in the vein of stalking and the like. I'm just waiting for Justin Timberlake to talk about that exciting night he and I spent in front of the fireplace at a cottage during a ski trip... in my mind...

Well, how to make Cam update his journal more? Send him to a small town with no high-speed internet and nothing interesting to do!

So Sheila Copps might bolt to the NDP? Fascinating turn of events. Not sure what I want her to do... I certainly like her more than Tony Valeri, the Minister who is certain he's not pushing her out of the riding.

FYI: Riding distribution led two Liberals to want the same riding, though interestingly only Sheila actually *lives* in the riding. Paul Martin is a big fan of NOT SHEILA, so Tony Valeri is getting a bit of support behind the scenes, I suspect. Plus he's slimy.

If she goes to the NDP, she gives up any chance of being PM someday (not that her chances ever got over 20% or so). She also gives up the chance of being in government ever again. But she is such a lefty-Liberal that the NDP would be a great fit. And it would be a great boost for the NDP too... whatever your stripes, Jack Layton is certainly making waves and news.

Hmmm. Hmmm hmmm hmmm.
