Bump bump bump bump... do-do-do-doo-doo
Sep. 28th, 2003 02:08 pmso... tired...
We were In Da Club last night, our first Rejections visit since the students all returned, and it was an amusing time. I am lucky I'm not in the hospital -- I've been taking care of myself very poorly, so going with the remnants of a cold and drinking a lot really was not smart. But I'm actually doing ok. For those who aren't familiar, drinking a lot for me = 1.5 drinks over 3 hours.
Saw wil and steve and
bartok and
leapfish and
nihilicious and mike and greg and casinoboi -- goodness there were lots of people. And mannequins. And tin foil. The evening was "Black and Blue" -- kind of a tribute to the Montreal B&B party coming up, in a "Halifax is big enough to have a real pre-party, dammit" kind of way. It was odd. Mannequins painted silver sitting on tables and hanging from the ceiling. I wish I had something wittier to say about them. Please comment and leave your suggestions.
I was very suspicious slash alarmed that Trevor was not there. Our friend Trevor is the weatherman (weatherboy, really) on Global, and a hurricane is about to hit Halifax -- within a few hours, actually. Does he know something he's not telling us? Has he fled the province? Did he pack his furry white cowboy hat? These are the important questions that come to mind.
So now I'm sitting around, purposefully and carefully doing nothing at all. Vinny's studying and fretting ever so slightly about the possible impending takeover and layoff-fest his company has just learned of. From the Sunday papers too, not even from, say, management.
So who knows, maybe we'll be starving students again sooner than we thought! Yay!
