From May 19-30, I'll be pretty much disconnected. The Egale Canada list is going ape over racism silliness, so I may have to unsubscribe from that temporarily just so I don't go insane when I return, but obviously with friends that's not an option. So maybe I should book a day off work to catch up on my journal.

Additionally, I need a way to tell you all about what I do while I'm there. So I'm taking a travel journal I got from [livejournal.com profile] leapfish's Mom. I think what I'll do upon my return is maybe take pictures of each page I write, and post that. Or if they don't turn out in focus, I'll scan them, but that takes 100,000 years to do, so it's not my first choice.

I'm certainly not retyping it all, that much I'm sure of.

It depends upon how neatly you print if you want to scan select highlights of the trip. And if it's unlined paper that helps, too.

Ooo, good point. I hate scanners, btw. I feel like I'm trapped in 1989 when I use one. The paper has lines, so I'll just have to experiment with photos I guess.

Perhaps you could hire a co-op student for personal use. There'd be lots with data-entry and web skills, so you'd have a huge litter to pick and choose from.

Naah, co-op students are nothing but trouble. :)

Does the "racism silliness" involve a former Egale board member? If so, I know the players involved, and I'm sort of shocked at the whole thing.

Yes, I believe so. I claim no knowledge nor informed opinion about the matter. I only know that every time I've dared to read one of the emails, someone has said something that made sense, and then 100 emails have arrived from said former Board member disputing every point everyone else has made.

Also, there were apparently threats made. *sigh*

Unfortunate that someone had to be removed from the list, everyone acts like children all the time anyway.

That's one of the reasons I never got into that list business to begin with.

About said former Board member, I will say this: the combination of sexy and crazy is one of the most potent formulas known to man.

Yeah, the squeaky wheel joins the Egale Canada email list.
