So the company I work for has an apartment in Halifax. It is used for any employee, or contractor, who needs a place to stay in the city. It's cheaper than hotel stays, though they'll accept that if the apartment is already booked. I had never been to it before this evening.

I arrived to find dirty everything, burned-out light bulbs, couch cushions falling onto the floor, wires strewn about, dirty sheets on the bed, at least three different deodorant sticks in the bathroom, a small mountain of dirty laundry thrown into a closet (with a vacuum cleaner on TOP), and no towels. The bedis saggy, and all furniture is at the donated quality.

There is high-speed Internet access. An old classroom computer is here, plus a wireless router with all security turned off. Even the internet is dirty at this place. I'm afraid to touch anything.

I want to go home!

That's just inexcusable. Given that it's a place provided to you because you're there for work, there must be a minimum standard that they have to meet. I know it's not a working environment, but still!

Agreed. To add futher amusement, I found out that they used to have a cleaner go in regularly, but the CEO didn't want to spend the money. So now the COO cleans it herself once in a while.
