I'm teaching at the City Of London today (i.e. the offices of the bureaucrats, not the Mayor and Council). The computers are locked down, to a certain extent: when one opens a browser, it goes directly to their intranet, and all "chrome" is removed (toolbars, menubars, address bar, etc). But I can still use Ctrl-O to open a new webpage of my choice.

I tried visiting Gmail from here. Since I was feeling lazy, I didn't bother with a secure connection, I simply typed gmail and then hit Ctrl-Enter. Their firewall rejected it, suggesting the site was not for business purposes. But https://gmail.google.com works just fine. Mwuhahaha.

I'm teaching Train The Trainer, but my students aren't really that lively or energetic (yet). It makes it hard to do this sort of course, since it depends quite a bit on classroom participation. If I taught high school, I'd be one of those annoying teachers who makes everybody participate, I can already tell.

Hmmm. Some days I think being a teacher would be fun. Others, not so much. I think the sheer size of a year's worth of curriculum -- actually, curricula, since I'd be teaching multiple courses! -- is what scares me. With corporate training, I can see the end of the course very easily.

Hmmm. That's enough rambling for now, methinks.
