While he promised to send an email a day on the topic, sadly nothing has been received yet, so I am jumping in before [livejournal.com profile] jdhorner gets a second chance. Here are some pics of the condo in a slightly more complete state. Still not finished, but I get the sense that will be a "maybe before the sun goes nova" project as opposed to the more satisfying "maybe next week" variety.

(previous pictures for comparison (new window))

Guest room, office, sunroom, den... they all mean the same thing. If you come to visit, you'll likely sleep here. Remember, you can book the guest room online!

IKEA showroom / our living room. Yes, those are Vinny's feet.

Kitchen with complete (though not, truly) red walls. Note the painfully obvious incomplete ceiling. Not visible: peeling and bubbling due to previous owners' incompetence with the paint.

Finally, a better view of our little reading nook / sunroom area. These were all taken at night, so not very well lit. It's a good thing no serious photographer friends live any closer than Seattle, or I'd get a beating.

Can also be read as "it hasn't been written yet, but once I have some free time I'll be sure to come up with something witty and post it."

It's still a mess. It looks so much like the earlier picture of it, there was no point in an updated version. I will of course post pictures once it changes, for example if we purchase a new bed or something.

People who visit get the non-abbreviated tour, by the way.

We have the same lamp in our living rooms.

And that online booking form is hilarious.

We need more lamps in our living room -- it's far too dark. Not bad for us, but twice we've had a few guests over and I'm thought about lighting flares to keep the room lit.

Candles might be a pretty solution... especially large candles on wrought-iron stands.

Looking good - but that 80's globe lamp thing in the kitchen needs to go!!! LOL

I'd recommend some fun track lighting from Ikea - perhaps that Cable track lighting - that stuff rocks!

For heaven's sake, put some art on your walls! Honestly! I won't come visit 'til there's art.

I'm trying. The main obstacle is our intention to repaint everything, and we haven't really accepted the reality that it's not going to get done in the next few weeks (read: months). So bit by bit.
But be careful about tying visits to art. I can get the walls covered within a couple hours, and then you'll be forced to visit right away!

*grin* Thanks Joe, but it's OK. We're not bothering with it right now, it's just one of the many to-do items. Ask me again in a few months, then I might be more willing to say fuck it. :-)
