I bought a laptop finally!
Oct. 1st, 2004 01:24 pmYesterday, after months of hemming and hawing and other colloquial verbs, I purchased a laptop. Thanks to the suspects, who helped with their wedding gift. :)
I bought this one:
.
It was only $1399 (Canadian) at Future Shop. I thought that was pretty good. Thing is, today a sale started and it's $100 cheaper. So I'll be dropping in at the store in an hour or three to get my partial refund.
Specs:
- AMD Athlon XP-M 2200+ with PowerNow
- 512 MB DDR RAM
- 60 GB
- DVD-ROM + CD-RW combo drive
- 802.11g
- 12.1" XGA TFT
- 1" thick
- 1.95 kg (4.3 lbs)
- same footprint as an 8.5"x11" piece of paper, with one more inch in width added. VERY small, VERY light. So nice. :-)
UPDATE: I just looked closer, and that's not actually a picture of my laptop. It's similar though. Here's another picture, this is more accurate, though less detailed at the same time.

Also shopping for a PC laptop. My Powerbook is back at Apple in Canada getting fixed..
