Well ... except the government (federal and territorial) had little to do with it. Actually, they opposed the application, and were ordered to pay the couple's legal costs as a result.
Are they NDP? I have this vague impression that they don't have a formal party system in the territories, that it's government by coalition of individuals on an issue-by-issue basis. But I also have the vague impression that the government sits in a giant igloo, fueled by whale blubber.
