Another question from the same survey organization, on a different survey:
Do you think the Liberal government in Ottawa has done a good enough job to deserve re-election, or is it time to give a new party a chance?
Please select one response only.
  • Liberal Party deserves re-election
  • Time to give new party a chance
...and later on, I was asked to indicate which party leader is best described by the following words or phrases:
insipiring, dishonest, strong leadership, competent, arrogant, flip flops, has the best plan for the future, too negative, understands the concerns of people like me, corrupt, makes unrealistic promises, compassionate, stands for what I believe, and intelligent.
Hmmmm. When answering on some, like "flip flops," I wondered whether my answer would actually have any effect on the overall poll. (My answer was Stephen Harper, because he has a proven track record of opportunistically changing his position to win votes. Most politicians do, even in the NDP (though not Jack Layton, that I've noticed anyway). But I suspect Paul Martin will get the most votes in that category regardless of how I answer.)
